Is 10000 Steps Enough For A Day?

Various studies have shown that moderate physical activity of 30 minutes each week is good for your body. Half an hour of aerobic exercises like jogging and walking can easily lower the chances of getting diabetes, heart diseases and other kinds of cardiovascular diseases.

If you are someone who wants to shed the extra pounds and trim the waistline, then thirty minutes of normal exercising will not be enough. You need to increase your exercising to sixty minutes and that too including a brisk walk. Every day you can do moderate exercise for thirty minutes followed by another thirty minutes of jogging and walk.

10,000 Steps

Besides the formal exercise you do each day, like being on the treadmill for thirty minutes or other aerobic instruments during the day, you must wear the pedometer or Fit bit and add more steps in your regular exercising activities.

Now, formal exercise steps along with the normal steps you take all day, if added and comes to the grand total of about 10,000 steps, will be equal to the sixty minutes of the daily exercise that you really want for losing a substantial amount of weight.

How To Reach The 10,000 Steps

It is easy to gain the required 10,000 steps. Just add thirty minutes of formal exercise on the treadmill and then about two or three miles which round to about 4000 steps (of course, the number of steps will vary based on the speed and stride that you take).

Now you have about 6,000 steps more to go or just about two to three miles. The best part is that you can easily do it and it is very easy. In this situation, you can wrap the pedometer on your belt or wear it like a bracelet, somewhat like the latest digital brand like Fit bit.

With such devices, you can take advantage of the small movements which you make every day. For example, parking your vehicle at the far end of the parking lot, taking stairs rather than the elevator, walking while speaking on the phone, and the list goes on. And interestingly, you can step in place while being in the line of the grocery store.

Most health experts feel that you need to take the benefits of the various fitness tools and formal exercise that you have. Along with those, if you are able to achieve the daily target of 10,000 steps, then you are having a much active lifestyle.
