Arnold & The 60s

Most of us are aware of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the impact he had during the 70’s and 80’s. Of course, there is no doubt he was one of the dominant alpha who had the physique that not only helped him win titles but even paved the way for movies. And the result is he became one of the most sought action stars in the Hollywood.

Somehow by the end of 70s, Arnold had created a wave in body building by winning about seven Mr Olympia title. Basically, it made him one of the most spoken and great celebrity in the world. But people just forgot about the humble beginning that the legendary Oak from Austrian had. Somewhat at the end of his body building career he had about seven to eight titles Olympia titles under him. And the inspirational aspect is how the legend came into being.

The former governor was born in the provincial land of Austria on 30th July 1947 to strict parents. They were quite financially weak and money was always a huge problem for them. Even though born without having any kind of privileges that most of the people have like financially sound and loving parents, Arnold was quite determined as a kid. At the age of fifteen, Arnold started the weight training and for that poor, skinny, unknown kid this was a beginning of being a legend and that too at a young age.

Slowly, as he reached the age of 17, Arnold took part in the first body building championship match, and just nailed it. And by the age of twenty, he became the youngest Mr Universe and slowly, his name began to spread in the bodybuilding arena. Yes! There are various bodybuilders who nowadays are better and bigger than Arnold ( because of the advancement in training, sports science, nutrition, etc)

However, the story and dedication that Arnold has makes it one of the most unforgettable and best story about bodybuilders.

When he was in his teens, he often used to cycle for ten miles by going up and down to the nearest gym located in the nearby town to take work out at the gym. It was always a passion for him to check out and do the various routine exercise. And in case of supplements, Arnold used to go for natural ones and not the commercialized protein shakes. He would mix raw eggs, milk, and honey, etc into a bottle and consume it for extra calories and proteins.

Another significant incident that took place when Arnold was in his teens happened in 1965. He once sneaked out of the military training during the compulsory service training to take part in the junior category of Mr Europe which he did win. For this action, he was put in the military jail for a week but was later on released by his officers for his outstanding achievement. Somewhat in the year 1968, the twenty year old Arnold came to the US with having only $20 and little English communication skills. He joined the training of Joe Weider and started his career as bodybuilder.

Frankly, Arnold’s life and experience teaches us to believe in ourselves and in our destiny.
